Cookie controls

What cookies are doing here
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a website. Some are needed for the site to work at all, for example to keep you logged in as you move between the lobby and the cashier. Others count visits or tell us which campaign brought you to us. On Hidden Jack, only the necessary ones run until you say otherwise.
The three groups
Necessary
These keep your session open, remember your language, protect the login form against automated attacks and store your answer to the cookie notice. They can’t be switched off, because the site would stop working without them. They don’t track you across other websites.
- Session: keeps you logged in while you move from page to page and ends when you log out.
- Security: a token that stops forged requests and slows down automated login attempts.
- Preferences: your language and currency, so the site opens the way you left it.
- Load balancing: sends your visit to a working server so pages and the cashier stay quick.
Statistics
With your permission, we count visits and see which pages are read and where people leave. The figures are anonymous and grouped together; we use them to fix slow pages and unclear text, not to build a profile of you.
- the number of visits to each page and how long people stay on it;
- the type of device, browser and screen size, so we can test the layouts people actually use;
- pages that load slowly or show an error;
- the point where visitors leave a form, such as registration, so we can make it clearer.
Campaigns
Also only with your permission. These tell us which offer or partner link led you to Hidden Jack, so we know which campaigns are worth running. They are not used to follow you around the web with adverts.
- the partner or advert you clicked before arriving;
- the page you first landed on;
- whether that visit later led to a registration or a first deposit.
Your choice and how long it lasts
When you first visit, a notice lets you accept everything, reject everything or pick categories one by one. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and saying no changes nothing about the games, the bonuses or your account. We keep your choice for 12 months, then ask again.
Changed your mind? You can change my cookie choice at any moment, and the same link sits in the footer of every page. The new setting applies from the next page you open.
If you say no
Refusing optional cookies is completely fine, and you keep full access to Hidden Jack. Here is what changes and what doesn’t:
- You can still register, deposit, claim bonuses, play every game and withdraw exactly as before.
- Your visits are left out of our statistics, so your pages don’t count towards our figures.
- If you arrived through a partner link, we may not know which partner sent you. Your bonus is not affected.
- Statistics or campaign cookies set before you said no are no longer read, and you can delete them in your browser.
Why we ask before setting them
In the United Kingdom, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the UK GDPR say that a website needs your consent before it stores anything on your device that isn’t strictly needed. That is why statistics and campaign cookies stay switched off until you choose, and why the notice gives the reject option the same weight as accept. It is also the reason we ask again after 12 months rather than assuming your answer lasts for ever.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you view and delete cookies, or block them for particular sites. If you clear all cookies, you’ll be logged out and the cookie notice will appear again, because your earlier answer is gone. Blocking necessary cookies will stop you logging in.
Menus move a little between versions, but these are the usual routes:
- Chrome: open Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Delete browsing data. On Android, the same options sit under Settings and Privacy and security in the app.
- Firefox: open Settings, choose Privacy and Security, then scroll to Cookies and Site Data to clear data or manage exceptions.
- Safari on a Mac: open Safari, then Settings, then Privacy, and choose Manage Website Data to see and remove what each site has stored.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, tap Safari, then Advanced and Website Data.
- Edge: open Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Samsung Internet: open the menu, then Settings, then Browsing privacy dashboard, where you can delete browsing data.
If you only want to remove Hidden Jack’s cookies, most browsers let you search the list for our site name and delete just those entries.
Games from other studios
When you open a game, it loads from the studio that made it. Studios may set their own technical cookies to run the game session, for example to keep your place in a round if the connection drops. They don’t receive your name or email from us.
Payment providers work the same way. When you open the cashier, a card processor or crypto gateway may set a cookie of its own to secure the payment and check it for fraud. These are needed to complete the transaction and are covered by that provider’s own policy.
Changes to this page
If we add a new kind of cookie or change what an existing group does, we update this page and the date at the top. For anything that needs your consent, the cookie notice appears again so you can decide afresh, even if your earlier choice was made less than 12 months ago.
Local storage
Your cookie answer itself is saved in your browser’s local storage rather than on our servers, which is why it follows the browser and not your account. Open Hidden Jack on a new phone or in a different browser and the notice will ask you once more. Private or incognito windows forget the answer when they close, so you may see the notice each time you use one.
